AI Art
GIZMAG -- Was it bought by a humanoid robot with a taste for representative art?
It is an ugly daub, but a daub made by artificial intelligence (AI) -- not to be confused with artificial stupidity (AS), when the robot has learning difficulties, and natural stupidity, when it is not a robot at all. Apparently, non-artificial intelligence also exists.

Felik AI
GIZMAG -- Because fat
cats are a problem
"It is a fantastic
invention," commented Miss Ramonella Bumpkins of Plymouth (England).
"My boyfriend, Jason Potter, tends to spend most of the weekend
watching TV from the comfort of the sitting-room's sofa, a can of beer in hand.
(Not the same can of beer for more than 25 mins on average.) With Felik, it
will tease him and, when he gets up to go to the kitchen (or the loo,
inevitably), Felik will interact with him and encourage Jason to move about a
bit. Jason might lose weight as a result. It's a win-win situation. If Felik
can talk, I might be able to have a conversation with it too..."
Designed by Seattle-based
startup Angry Lychee, the Wi-Fi-connected Felik is intended to be mounted on
a wall or placed on a shelf, and is equipped with an infrared camera that it
uses to detect ...

Sexist AI
That's an interesting one: Artificial Intelligence (AI) relies on previous data that has been collected, and it extrapolates patterns on that basis, which become criteria for making recommendations or decisions.
If the original data is biased or partial, inevitably, it affects the 'picture' of reality that AI builds up, and you end up having absurd 'decisions'.
It shows the limitations of AI, as it is. There's no 'intelligence' to it in the human sense: it is merely regurgitating pieces of data on the basis of more data that's been input over time, scanning masses of data for 'clues' as to what is 'good' or not.
In this case, the word 'woman' or 'women' got the CVs rejected!

To help with due diligence, AWS, which was overseeing the prospective acquisition, hired a third-party company to scrutinize Elemental’s security, according to one person familiar with the process.
